Huntington ISD Teacher Resigns Over Controversial Charlie Kirk Comments

UPDATE September 19, 2025: Huntington ISD has confirmed additional details about the teacher resignation. The district confirmed that a World History and Government teacher at Huntington High School, was placed on administrative leave following political statements made in their classroom on September 11th regarding Charlie Kirk's death. The teacher resigned on September 16th.

HUNTINGTON, TX - A Huntington ISD teacher has resigned following reported comments about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, district officials confirmed this week. The resignation comes as Texas educators across the state face mounting disciplinary actions for social media posts and remarks tied to Kirk’s death.
