Lufkin City Council Approves New Arcade at Cotton Square
The Lufkin City Council approved a special use permit for a new indoor arcade at 105 Cotton Square, just south of the Perry building. The arcade will feature claw machines and aims to be a family-friendly addition to the downtown area.
The nearby area includes restaurants and retail spots such as Napoli’s, Downtown Scoop, and Cotton Square Park. The location falls under the city’s mixed-use downtown planning focus area.
This proposal received unanimous support from the Planning and Zoning Commission, and council members approved the ordinance after a public hearing. Mayor Mark Hicks recused himself due to a connection with the applicant.
